Hi everybody! Sorry that I haven't blogged in a few months. And this is my first blog since we moved to FL. Sooo our topic on this blog is.....(drum roll please)..... FUNNY STREET NAMES!! And there's a BUNCH of them some are funny, reasonable and familiar (just to let you know.) Kai Dr, RobinHood st, Pineapple ave, and Myrtle st (for those of you that remember, I used to live on the corner of Myrtle ave.)
I also want to share a story I wrote:
The Bunny and The Gardners

Once Upon a Time there was a cute Cotton Tail Bunny named Cotten. He loved to play voilin, play with the fairies, and he absolutely LOVED to take carrots from gardeners. One day after the fairies had to go home, Cotten was really hungry from all that playing so he decided to go get some food for his family, he had two brothers, Beast and Hardman, and two sisters Mel, and Firetail. "I want pizza!" shouted Beast, "I'm in the mood for a taco," said Mel "You know I like KFC," answered Firetail "I'm hungry for steak," piped Hardman. Cotten didn't know what to get, then out from the living room came Mother Bunny (Maria) "Don't worry Cotty you can get carrot steak, carrot KFC, carrot pizza, and carrot taco" You coulden't imagine the looks on their faces, Beast looked like he was going to start karate-chopping all of the chairs, Mel looked like she was turning red from the feet up, tears were going to well up in Firetail's eyes any second, and Hardman looked like he was going to turn the rabbit home upside down. "Or Cotty can get some plain carrots" and at the moment when Mommy Bunny said "plain" all of them calmed down. So Cotten went to there Human neighbors, they had two kids one boy, one girl, and one parent, the boy and girl went to check on there carrots, then the girl said "They don't look ready, lets wait until tomorrow they might be ready then" then the little boy said " Ok, but not TOO long or the bunnies might eat them all!" so then the kids went inside to get ready for bed. Then around dusk Cotten came to get some carrots, he took five for Hardman, three for Mel, seven for Beast, and four for Firetail. Then the next morning after the kids did school work they went outside to get the carrots and the boy noticed somthing "Hey come look! more than half the carrots are gone!" then the girl said "Either we have some carrot robbers or we have bunnies running around" and the kids never found out if they indeed have carrot robbers or some bunnies hopping in their graden.

Hi everybody,my mom recently registered me in a Tae Kwon Do class around the corner, if your wondering what 'Part 1' means it means that I will blog about it again. Tae means 'to strike or break with foot' kwon means 'to strike or break with fist' do means 'way', 'method' or 'art' put it all together and it means 'the art of foot and fist' or 'the art of kicking and punching'. Tae kwon do teaches you about self defense and more.

World Records

Hi.

Today I was thinking about setting my own World Record, bouncing a ball (not a hand ball) on my hands for more than 100 bounces. So far my record is 48 bounces, I checked on the Guinness World Record website (if you want to visit the website here is the link http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/) and there is none for bouncing ball on your hand. On Friday the 4th my mom got me the Nook Color. It is definitely worth the money. You can do a lot of stuff with it you can surf the web, read, add apps, shop, change your wallpaper, do chess and more, and if you do buy the Nook Color, girls there is good book you can download for free it's called 'Girls to the Rescue' and boys if you like Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief, then there is a book for you it's called 'The lost Hero (Hero's of Olympus') but I recommend downloading books instead of buying. You can buy stuff but you need the Nook Ebooks Gift Card, it gives you 25 dollars so you can buy things on your Nook. You can easily find the Nook Color and the Gift Card at a local Staples.

Advice

Hi I need some advice, my mom doesn't trust me to go outside to the park,store etc by myself. How can I get my mom to trust me? Maybe if we move to our own purlieu she'll trust me enough to let me be free and roam. I know my mom doesn't want me to get hurt out there but I'm going to be 11 in a couple of months and she needs to trust me and let me roam out of the nest.
Any advice would be helpful!!!

UFO's

Last night Kai said he saw a U.F.O tilting,then 4 seconds later it zoomed off at hyper speed like in Star Trek. Then Kai fell asleep, when he woke up he looked out my window and the U.F.O was there again. This time it was spinning so fast the lights became a blur. Kai then saw something in the distance, he spotted another U.F.O silently gliding under the other spinning U.F.O it was coming towards him. The top U.F.O stopped spinning as soon as the other U.F.O went under it.Then the top U.F.O POPPED invisible blending in with the night sky and the other U.F.O slowly flew to Kai's left then POPPED invisible just like the other one.

I got a new puppy on Saturday the 18th, let me start from the beginning. On Saturday my mom said that my godmother is bringing poncho (her boy Yorkie dog) over because my godmother had to do something so she dropped poncho off, when my mom came up with him ON a leash I was playing with him so much i didn't notice what was in the bag my mom gave me poncho's leash I was about to walk out of the kitchen then mom said "What are you going to do with this"??? I stood there for a moment then I said "Who's is that???" mom said "Yours" I dropped poncho's leash and I ran toward the pup and if you've been to my place, her head can fit under the couch and the ottoman. I named my pup Diamond of course if your wondering, its a girl she is just the cutest puppy ever my mom will send your moms a picture of her.

Hello Earthlings!!

Thursdays is one of our busiest days. Other than breakfast and some lessons, we also have soccer with coach Manny, Latin with Magistria Jo Ann, and Art with Magistra Vita. Unfortunately she was sick so couldn't do the lesson. Magistria Jo Ann substituted for her today. Although the topic was one I love (underwater life) I couldn't seem to come up with anything. The only thing on my mind was UFO's so I just started drawing aliens and space ships taking over the world.
After finishing art, it started raining!! I came home and what do you know... There was news about a UFO sightings over Manhattan NYC (if you don't know what UFO means, it means Unidentified Flying Object, and if you don't know what a UFO it looked like a Frisbee shape with multi colored lights on the side and some times they have lights on the bottom) Some say that it was a weather balloon, others say that it was a kite, but last time I checked KITES DON'T HAVE ALUMINUM!!!!! Also its impossible to get a kite way up there. Maybe it WAS a UFO over NYC. So what do u think? UFO or Weather balloon? Ur choice............

THIS IS ALL NOT REAL but the part when Michael came is real: Today Michael came over to my apt. We had homemade spaghetti and meatballs. Michael, Kai and I, played a game with Kai's toy castle. I was a mermaid, Michael was a Hippogriff (a mythical creature). It was about a mermaid princess and a hippogriff prince, they both were under a spell, then when all the bad guys were dead one of the bad guys killed the mermaids human form. When we finished the game Michael was acting like a pretty PRINCESS at a bar. And then when he was a the bar he broke his nail. And then he pretended to vomit, I called 911 on my fake cell phone and they said to stab him in his left shoulder and cut off his head. It was soooooooooooooo fun it made me cry

Hello- Yesterday was my friend E's birthday. She had her birthday at the Vander Ende-Onderdonk House. There were so many butterflies of all colors, and there was a rock that was the original marker separating Brooklyn and Queens. There were many Crab Apple trees and a huge Cherry Tree too. If you are on the right of the rock, you are in Queens, how cool is that?! Her mom made a Red Velvet Cake it was fantastic! We got a tour and played a lot of games. I missed swimming, but this was fun too.

I am still confused about what I want to do for my birthday. This place is another cool thing to add to my list. They are having a strawberry festival next month, I can't wait to go!!

And my mom and E's mom are going to set something up so we can volunteer here. I would like to help out cleaning or helping give tours.

Dinosaur? Bird? Dinosaur?Bird?

Today my Mom, Kai and I, were watching a bird documentary. It included the history of how birds came to be and from the dinosaur age, they were talking about a dinosaur called "Archaeopteryx." They were the first "dinosaur birds."

This is a photo of the fossil of the Archaeopteryx. It was found in Germany in 1891. This is a cool dinosaur and a great discovery!!

Tonight made dinner for my mom and brother. I learned to make this Napa Soup at Betty's house. Betty brought the Napa to us today and so it was my chance to make it. The picture above is me putting in the spam I cut up. Mom was sitting at the computer taking pictures of me while I cooked dinner by myself. She probably thought my hair was going to catch fire!
Here are the ingredients:

Napa Cabbage
Soup Noodles
Spam
Seasonings ( I used some adobo, and some sofrito)
Stock (but I used some ham cube season)
2 dashes of Soy Sauce
* you can use whatever seasonings you like for your soups.

I was really excited about everyone tasting it. I wanted the soup to hurry up and boil. It finally did.
When we sat down to eat... EVERYON LOVED IT!!!! Kai only had 1 bowl (he never eats a lot, but he always complains he's hungry 100 times a day!) Mom had 2 big bowls and I did too. Now my mom has to clean up the kitchen while I kick back and relax :-)

A Winning Day!!!!!

Yesterday was my last Track meet. Before we started our team received trophies for 1st place and 5th place team over all. And our team also won 2nd place for our time records. I usually don't like Track, because I haven't won a medal. But this time I did.

In this picture I am the one in orange in the 4th lane. I came in second for the 50 meter dash. And was able to run in the finals. So I ran twice! In that race I came in 3rd. I was super excited that I finally one. My coach said I was the first girl on his team to be able to get into the finals!!

This is ECSTATIC me!! Finally with a medal.

Romeo and Juliet:Sealed with a Kiss

I drew this because I love seals. And I love the movie "Romeo & Juliet: Sealed With a Kiss" If you like Shakespeare and seals, you will love this movie. That characters are adorable and it's really cute to see them act like Romeo and Juliet.

I hope I can work saving these adorable animals in a few more years. I've watched a cool show that shows how they care for rescued seals. The job is pretty dirty, but it is an exciting job because you get to take care of defenseless marine animals. I hope you like my drawing :-} My mom let me stay up to finish it.

Atlantis Vacation

On August 23rd is my Birthday, that is in 3 more months. On August 22 I am leaving to Atlantis! So if I leave the 22th I will wake up there on my birthday so I know it not a dream, and why I want to go there you say? Because I LOVE to SWIM :-] There's water slides day care and many more...so if you want to come bring your kids so the adults can party while your kids are in day care making crafts and playing with other kids around the world!!!

Two days ago my Mom ordered me a book from Amazon.com the name of the book is "The Girl From Atlantis" By Richard Schenkman, it is about a girl named Athena Crowly. She lives on Paradise Island in the Bahamas with her mother and father. Athena is able to communicate with sea animals and becomes friends with an old sea turtle, she asks the sea turtle to take her to Atlantis. I received the book today and read the whole thirty chapters!! I am so grateful to my mom for getting me this book :] Maybe she'll some more mermaid books.

I really loved this book because it is about a girl like me living in the Bahamas. That is my dream. I wish I could pack up and go now, but I have to wait until I am older. I hope to visit again on my birthday. I love the turquoise blue water and the warm sun. It's summer all year round and totally surrounded by water and beautiful see creatures. It is paradise!

Today we went to Sports Authority. Kai bought a fishing pole because he is going camping,and he will be fishing. I got to buy a baseball bat and ball,I didin't get a mitt because my mom said that they are too expensive. The style of bat is: wood, Louisville Slugger :)

On Thursday my Mom, Dad, Kai and I went to Adventure Aquarium in NJ. It was a long drive but it was worth it, we saw hippos, birds, jellyfish, piranhas, sharks of all kind, seals, sea turtles and countless other animals.We got to touch sharks, jellyfish and stingrays, starfish, sea urchins, and sea cucumbers. Before we left Adventure Aquarium we went to the gift shop, Kai bought bag filled with sea animal toys, I bought a seal :-]

The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League

In 1942, America was at war in World War II every man had to go to war so the mens Baseball teams had to go to war so there was no baseball. Phillip Wrigley was worried about the baseball fields and stadiums deteriorating so his committee came up with the idea of a Girls Professional Baseball League.

It took some time for people to get used to the idea, some people believed it was certainly NOT lady like. And others thought girls could NOT play baseball. The girls on the teams proved everyone wrong! They went to charm school to show the country how ladylike baseball can be. And when they practiced baseball they practiced just as hard as the men, but 50% better.

The League lasted longer than they imagined, all the way to 1954!!! Their playing was indescribable! They were amazing women who knew how to play and played hard even in a SKIRT!

Today Jo Ann, Melgirl, Beast, Chardmen, Kai, Betty, my mom and I went to a Chinese

restaurant today. Kai and I shared Beef Mein(Beef Soup)in the BIGGEST chinese bowl we ever

saw! Insted of it tasting like soup it tasted a little like dough(It was made out of dough). It was

scrumptous and we also had fried pork dumplings, these were delicious too. After that we went

to a nearby park,we played for a looooong time we forgot what time it was. If you want to go to

that awesome restaurant, ask Mother Beast. Thanks Betty for inviting us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And

picking us up :-] And THANK YOU SO MUCH for my new friend Socksie, I will take care of her

Fun Fridays!!

On Fridays, Kai and I go to our swimming class. I love to swim, in fact I taught myself how to swim under water. I go to the YMCA for our homeschoolers swimming class. I love to swim, I swim as fast as a MERMAID and I can hold my breath for minutes. Later on around sunset we go to Awana :-] Awana means:Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is a bible study class and we have a fun time there. It is important for children to learn about God and have fun at the same time. I've been memorizing different bible verses and I'm doing very well.

Do you beleve in mermaids? Well I do They are so beautiful,and so strong thats why I want to become a mermaid.I have figurines of different mermaids.when I become a mermaid I would look like this :Brown long curly hair,a big turquoise blue tale and fin,an power to control water(ex:making it float in air and shaping it).And i'd be able to find treasure is sunken ships and be able to hold my breath for 30 mins. When I'm older...

When I'm older I want my job to be at The Marine Mammal Center,if you never heard of it go online to marine mammal center. Type it just like that,and what the people do there is that they find and save sea animals that have been injured or orphaned. They rescue sea otters, northern fur seals, northern elephant seals, pacific harbor seals, harbor porpoise, humpback whales, California sea lions, Bottlenose dolphins and Steller Sea Lions. Thats why I want to have a job there. Helping animals is very important and you have to know a lot of marine biology for this job. I want to help all these beautiful animals :-)

My Fave sports are Baseball,Scoccer and Swimming. But my ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE sport Is....................... BASEBALL!!!! I had a busy few days and don't want to move from this place. I want to lay on the couch eating ice cream and watch a cartoon since I can't be at a pool!!!!!

What have I been up to?? Well, here it is!

Friday:

Our friends picked us up early in the morning to go to Philadephia. We went to the Insectarium and to Ringing Rocks Park. This day was one of the best days we've had!!!

We learned about different insects and arachnids. And saw a display kitchen full of regular cockroaches (German Cockroaches) and waterbugs (Oriental Cockroaches). I got to eat a worm larvae which didn't taste bad, but I've eaten a Firefly before so I'm not scared of that stuff. My mom tried the worm larvae and almost VOMITED RIGHT THERE!!!! My brother did not want to try it, and was worried about the spiders, he is arachnaphobic. We were able to hold the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach which wasn't a big deal since we've held them before. My favorite part of the tour was mounting our own butterflies!!

All of us kids played and had so much fun. Most of them are my friends and we always have a good time when we're together.

Some of us went to Ringing Rock park after the Insectarium. We hit the rocks with hammers and some of them ring. It is a big mystery why they ring.Some people say it's because some of the rocks have a lot of iron in them so they are almost like metal. People also say that if you take a ringing rock out of the park, it will no longer ring.

Our moms climbed some rocks, but us kids went around the whole park!!! I felt like an explorer on an expedition, I felt like Sacajawea and the boys were Lewis and Clark :-) We had so much fun exploring on our own. My friend Ethan has been there before and kept us safe.

Rotten Saturday!!!:

Was a little rotten. I had my track meet and didn't get a medal. I just barely made the longest jump mark :( We have another meet next wekend. I don't know which area I want to compete in.

Sunday:
It is sweltering outside, I want to be in a pool!!!!! Since I can't do that I will sit still on the couch eating ice cream and watching a cartoon. PLEEEEEEEESE MOM???? <3

Glass Blowing

So today we went to Urban Glass in Brooklyn. I've been waiting a long time for this. First I want to say that we did not get to make any glass, BUT it was still amazing to watch! It looked like glowing honey.Our instuctor made a bead, later on we watched two artists making a bowl with a clear glass fish. It took a long long long long long time to make the bowl it was sort of purple and red and with the fish it was a work of art :)

They have to keep twirling and blowing to keep it's shape. Then they keep reheating and shaping, and blowing. It is about an hour process.

This photo is of the finished bowl with the glass fish melted onto it. We couldn't get a good picture because they had to run off and put it into a 1000 degree oven to cool. THe fire they were working with was 4,700 degrees!!!! While we sat and watched our faces lit up and the fire made our cheeks red, like a sun burn. We wore protective glassses to protect our eyes. This was an amazing experience. I can't wait to make my very own!!!!!!!!!!!

A Fun Day at the Park (^ o ^)

Today my mom, little brother and I went to the park my amici were there.
My friend Melissa was teaching me German at the park, so now I am learning to speak it! She is the BEST German teacher I could ever have!!!!! She gave me homework, which is to memorize some words. I'm confused now, I want to learn German and Mandarin at the same time!! I have to remind my mom to get me a German book from the library. I'd like to go to Chinese school and German School with both of my friends and I like learning new languages. IF my mother teaches me Spanish too, I will know 4 Languages!!!
Our other homeschool friends came and played in the park with us. We always have fun.

Later on Joe (my amicus' husband) taught me how to play baseball (not really I felt like I've done it before) when that was done we were relaxing until I met up with my brother's friend, Jonathan (he's a boy from cub scouts). THEN we had to leave because I have to go to Track'n Field. Mom is feeling sick and I don't really want to go so I think I will tell my dad to take me with him and my brother to Cub Scouts.

Tomorrow we have GLASS BLOWING. OMG!!! I can't wait to make something!!

Rainy but fun night out...

I went to GirlScouts tonight. We had a pizza party!!! Also, we made Mothers day bags and inside we filled it with Lavender,Vanilla and Winter Berries. When I came home, I surprised my mom with the bag. Of course she loves it!!

We also discussed online safety at our meeting. My Scout leader said she has younger children in her class (she is a teacher) have a Facebook account, I think that young children should not have a Facebook account because Facebook has a rule that children under 13 cannot have an account.They have that rule to keep us kids safe from dangerous people, and from giving information like telling where you live and when you were born.

SO BE SAFE!!!!

I'm extremely excited about our next trip with my scouts, we are going to Ripley's Believe it Or Not. I remember going there with my mom a long time ago, but don't remember much. I can't wait to hang out with the girls. One of the Girl Scouts is one of my homeschooling friends, and I like meeting up with her.

I invented this cool geography game with my brother.

We have to find the location for each creature, and once they are all in their place, each person takes a turn telling each otther to which creature to move and where. It isn't a game about winning we just like to see who knows the most countrys and who can move them fastest. MY MOM STILL NEEDS TO FIX THE DATE ON THE CAMERA!!! MOMMA IT ISN"T 2008!!!!!!!!!!!! You can try this game out it is fun. It's like our Where IN The World is Carmen Sandiego game.

Rainy Sunday

My Track & Field meet was cancelled today because of the rain. Earlier this morning I threw up the McDonald's I ate for lunch yesterday. NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EAT MCDONALD'S!!!!!!!!!! My mom always warns us :(

We watched a bunch of movies today. And I watched one of my favorite shows, Deadliest Catch.

So when I go to College me and my family are planing to move to the Bahamas so I can learn to Surfboard.

Hi,this is my first time on here so I'm going to start by telling you about my love for Mythical Creatures.These are just a few... MERMAIDS!!, Banshee(Ireland),Centaur half man half horse(Greece),Elf(Scandinavia),Fairy(Scotland/Scandinavia), Hippogriffs (Greece). There are many more, but these are a few of my favorites.

I want to let you all know that I am part of the Mermaid family. And one day I plan on turning into one (If you do not believe me ask my mom!) :)

My family and I had a fun week. From Latin, to walking the Brooklyn Bridge to swimming, we always have good days. My brother and I spent the night at my Nani's house because my mother had a Mom's Night Out with her other homeschooling "ADULT' friends. I love going to Nani's house because she let's us watch tv and we do what ever we want :) She is a cool Nani.

Next week is going to be really fun too. We are going to do our usual classes and go on two trips 1. Insectarium (in Philadelphia) and 2. Glass blowing. I've wanted to make glass since last year when I watched a documentary on glass blowing.
